Use this section as a source of
inspiration.
It lists ideas for fundraising events and activities that you can
use or adapt for your own circumstances. It is impossible to have
a definitive list of events and activities because so many variations
are possible for each one.
TIP: A good way of generating ideas is to create 3 lists - potential events, venues and target audiences. Then think how each event might be used at different venues and with different audiences. |
See how you can adapt these ideas - If you create an event or activity
that works well for you, please let us know so we can tell others
about it.
People may attend an event because it is enjoyable, or sponsor
someone to do an activity because they know that person. These forms
of fundraising are indirect - and means people are not necessarily
involved because of your work. As such the event can get your message
to a wider range of people than your core supporters, and can help
to generate an income for you.
When looking through the list - ask yourself if the idea lends
itself to:
- charging people to take part
- Sponsorship
- both
Tip: Many events and activities can be turned into sponsorship opportunities if they are made into a competition or a marathon. Often this means testing participants against an outside measure - such as time, distance, speed, or amount done |
